Fetcher

Fetcher is a people-analytics startup that helps connect companies with the people they want to hire. Fetcher is building a platform to surface the most qualified candidates for any role, while removing human bias in the process. As their first full-time creative hire, I worked in direct tandem with the founders to refine their brand identity and cement a design and product system that was translated across all aspects of the business. This mainly comprised of:

  • Company rebrand including a new logo, website and internal visual style guide for all social media channels and marketing collateral
  • Redesigned and codified the onboarding process for first-time users of the Fetcher product
  • New UI features for the logged-in web app, aimed at increasing team usage and overall engagement
  • Status: Full time, In-house
  • Creative and Product Direction: Chris Calmeyn

Brand Identity Refresh

The premise of my hiring was to create a full company brand refresh and this underpinned my responsibility to re-energize Fetcher’s outreach. Fetcher already had a great concept around their name – a bionic dog to represent man’s best friend as a symbolic partner for support – and had an effective tongue-in-cheek reference (if you’ve seen Mean Girls, you’ll get me). While I decided not to erase their company history, I uplifted their mascot to be more scalable which adaptable at different sizes across web and mobile app, as well as printed applications such as event merchandise.

Marketing and Illustration

In conjunction with the company rebranding, I designed and illustrated a wide range of content and iconography for use across Fetcher’s blog and social media. This was further collated into a comprehensive brand guideline to be used in-house which included art direction, bespoke illustrations and the incorporation of stock photography.

Updating the Onboarding Process

I redesigned the Onboarding process of Fetcher’s product to be an in-app page modal to enhance the user experience to be more pragmatic and speed-up the introduction of Fetcher to a new client.

The Fetcher Dashboard

Fetcher's main app allows recruiting teams to keep track of what's going on with their search for a new candidate. Fetcher's team had already built the foundation for an excellent desktop app, however they wanted to expand on certain areas in the app itself in order to encourage higher user engagement.

Inbox View

I redesigned this view in order to better emphasize Interested candidates. Additionally, I thought it would be great idea to consolidate all of your Team's activity about a particular candidate inline with the Inbox itself. For example, if the Recruiter finds a viable candidate, they may leave an @ message to their Hiring Manager to alert them.

Team View

The Team View of the app was updated to include more metrics and features to encourage more consistent behavior.
